地理哲学研究若干问题刍议

Prelminary Views on Some Problems in the Study of Philosophy of Geography

Science is closely related with philosophy. Every discipline should have its own scientific logic, methodology and philosophy. Geography is no exeption. Geographical science is made up of foundational theory applied theory and technology. Above these, there is a higher level of knowledgy, that is geographical philosophy. Geographical philosophy study has specific significance in the develop- ment process of geography. It may promote the integration of all branches in geographical science. The western geographical philosophy has experienced several stages, i.e. experientialism, positivism, humanism and structuralism. Now a pluralistic situa- tion is formed. The summarization of various geographical philosophies and metho- dologies is an important theme, and many relevant monographs have been pub- lished. In China, the study of geographical philosophy is very weak. There are some historical reasons for this condition. A major factor is that there is no geographical philosophy cause in university. Geographical philosophy study is urgent to be proceeded and developed in China. In order to do this, some approaches are suggested in this article.
