东亚大城市的大饭店历史沿革、现代发展及其城市功能

本文叙述了东亚大城市中的大饭店的历史沿革和现代化发展过程,着重分析了大饭店在城市中的表现形态和功能特色,并进一步探讨现代大饭店与城市现代化发展的相互适应和相互促进的紧密关系。文章着重介绍中国大陆的大饭店,并同日本,南韩的大饭店进行了对比研究。

GRAND HOTELS AND METROPOLISES IN EAST ASIA

This paper focuses on the role of grand hotels in the metropolises of East Asia. The attention is iniatilly paid to the historical characteristics of grand hotels in Europe and North America,and the three different models of grand hotels created in the nineteenth century. Then the case of the first grand hotel in China is analyzed:the Astor Hotel in Tianjin. The main times of building grand hotels in China-before 1949,1980s and 1990s-correspond to diverse localizations and functions in the Chinese cities. Grand hotels are centres of diffusing new technologies,new architectural forms and social behaviours. They are places where Chinese people can get in touch with foreigners. So,grand hotels symbolize the opening and modernity of Chinese cities. They play an important role in the development of local urban societies.
