Abstract: | Starting off from Lanzhou and going west along the Hexi Corridor, one first reaches Wuwei, a famous historical and cultural city in Gansu Province. Wuwei, called Liangzhou in ancient times, occupies an important position on the Silk Road. In fact, it is the important political, economic and cultural center in Northwest China. Some 1,600 years ago the state power of four dynasties once made it their capital. Even today, it remains a city with many well-known historical sites and abundant cultural relics. |
