汉代对《左传》的发覆与研究

对汉代的经今古文之争。人们常常作出简单化、绝对化的评判。以《春秋》三传为例,所谓师法家法只是表面上的水火不容。实际上却互相渗透,《左氏》也并非绝对不用《公羊》、《谷梁》之义。由于受时代的政治要求和思维定势的支配,古文学派使用的观点方法仍没有离开今文学家深求圣人“微言大义”的传统。而对于《左传》开启中国历史文化和道德精神的深远意义。汉代学者并未给以更多注意。

On the Subversion and Studies of Zuo Zhuan in Han Dynasty

People often pass simplified judgment on the dispute between the studies of classics in classical style and those in contemporary style in Han Dynasty.Take The Spring and Autumn Annals for example.The superficial irreconcilable disagreement between the theory and methods of academic studies handed down from masters to disciples and those imitated by the younger generations,turns out to be infiltration of the two sides. Zuo Shi does not avoid drawing on ideas from Gong Yang and Gu Liang as well.The political requirements and ideological tendency of the times kept the school of the classical style still at the tradition of "subtle words with a profound message"which was shared by the school of the contemporary style.Nevertheless,not enough attention had been paid by the scholars in Han Dynasty to the significance of Zuo Zhuan in initiating the Chinese historical culture and morality.
