Again on the West Asian Islamic Turquoise Blue-glazed Potteries Unearthed from the Remains of the Tang and Five-Dynasties Period of China

In some remains or tombs of the mid and late Tang Dynasty and the Five-Dynasties Period excavated in Fuzhou,Yangzhou,Guangzhou,Ningbo and Jiaozhou(in Guangxi),turquoise blue-glazed potteries made in West Asia were unearthed.Most of these potteries were vessels,the original function of which was only as containers rather than commodities.The glaze colors of this kind of potteries were different from that of the potteries made locally in China,so it is suitable for these potteries to be named as West Asian Islamic turquoise blueglazed potteries.That this kind of potteries mostly appeared in ancient port cities reflected the declining of the overland Silk Road and the prospering of the maritime trade routes since the 8th century AD.
