王宗载及其《四夷馆考》

明朝王宗载曾于万历六年任提督四夷馆少卿。在此期间，他搜集了不少四夷馆资料并于万历八年完成(四夷馆考》。本文在向达先生研究《四夷馆考》(巴黎本)的基础上，进一步探讨了该书的资料来源和史料价值，指出该书实际上是四夷馆译字生的学习参考书，它主要以抄本的形式在四夷馆(清四译馆)内部流传，清乾隆时禁毁书目中未见其名或许与此有关。此书主要以李贤等《大明一统志》、郑晓《皇明四夷考》和《皇明北虏考》为基础写成的，同时涉及到严从简《殊域周咨录》的部分内容。其最有价值的部分是作者记载的隆庆、万历年间鞑靼、逞罗等历史，以及有关四夷馆活动的内容。

Wang Tsung-Tsai and His Ssu I-Kuan K'ao

Wang Tsung-Tsai served as commander-in-chief in Ssu I-Kuan in Ming Wan-Li 6th year(1578).He collected many materials about Ssu I-Kuan during his assumption of office,and completed hand-copied book entitled Ssu I-Kuan K'ao in 1580. This paper further explores the origin and value of this book's historical materials on the base of Hsiang Ta's researches,pointing out that the book was actually a reference book of students who studied interpretion in SsuI-Kuan.This book circuted in form of handwritten copy inside Ssu i-kuan,so,it's name wasn't listed in the forbidden book cataloge during Chien-lung period.The book was mainly based on Ta-Ming I-Tong Chih by Li Hsien and Huang-Ming Ssu-I-K'ao and Huang-Ming Pai Lu K'ao by Cheng Hsiao,and it was relative to part of Shu-Yu Chou-Tzu-Lu by Yen Ts'ung-chien.It's most valuable part is the history of Tartar,Siam and so on during Lung-Ch'ing and Wa-Li period.
