1938年探访安阳殷墟

大多数东方陶瓷学会的成员都非常熟悉安阳这个名字，而且也深知安阳发现的重要意义。但是为其中的一些来宾着想，也许我还需要做一些简单的介绍。

A Visit to Yin Ruins in Anyang

In Jan 10th,1949,S.Howard Hansford,a British Scholar,presented a paper in an academic conference,which was later published in 1951 in Transactions of the Oriental Ceramic Society:1948-1949.The original name of the paper was A Visit to An-Yang,which was a record of the condition of Yin Ruins from the perspective of a western scholar during the Anti-Japanese War,after the withdrawl of the archaeologists from the Institute of History and Philology of Academia Sinica before its takeover by scholars from the newly-founded People’s Republic of China. The translator,who has been working in the Anyang Fieldwork Team affiliated to the Institute of Archaeologist, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences,found the article and translated it into Chinese,which presented us a true Anyang in the late 1930s.
