From "Circumstances Research" to Enviromental History

In her essay, prof. Genevieve Massard-Guilbaud pointed out that Les Annales was not the pioneer of French environmental history because “Milieu” in Les Annales was not “Environment” in environmental history. However, This doesn’t mean environmental history studies doesn’t mean environmental history studies doesn’t esixt in France. The foremost of what should be done is to integrate different disciplines on interactions of human and the rest of environment over time.
