He was a student of Armin Rappaport at the University of California, Berkeley, and is the author of several works, including Soviet-American Confrontation;(1973), On Every Front (1979), and a forthcoming book, Meeting the Communist Threat. The research note published here is drawn from Professor Paterson's current work on the United States and the Cuban revolution.
