| Abstract: | A system for classifying Scottish peatlands based on a primary threefold division into confined, partly confined and unconfined mires is presented and discussed. The system brings together the different approaches to peatland classification employed, and its inherent flexibility accommodates geographical variations and specific user requirements. |
