宋代施渚镇考

宋代施渚镇位于今湖州市埭溪镇。其地名变化过程包含三个阶段:唐时叫做上强,宋元时名为施渚,明清时更名埭溪。施渚镇位于连接湖州与杭州的陆路交通要道上,故北宋在此设税场征收商税。南宋时,江南运河交通地位愈发重要,施渚镇所在陆路通道之地位下降,导致该镇及税场被废除。随着商品经济的发展,明代在此兴起埭溪市,最终成长为镇。施渚镇之兴衰是其所在地区交通格局及商业格局之变迁的反映。

A Textual Research about Shizhu Town in the Song Dynasty

The location of Shizhu(施渚)town in the Song dynasty is Daixi(埭溪)town of Huzhou(湖州)City in Zhejiang(浙江)province now.The evolvement of its name contains three phases:the name was Shangqiang(上强)in the Tang dynasty and Shizhu in Song and Yuan dynasties and had been changed to Daixi in Ming and Qing dynasties.The location of Shizhu town was on the landway traffic line between Huzhou and Hangzhou(杭州),so there had been institution for taxation in the North Song dynasty.Then in the South Song dynasty,the weightiness of the landway traffic line of Shizhu town had been replaced by Jiangnan Canal(江南运河),so that the town and institution for taxation had been removed.As a result of the development of commerce,the location of Shizhu town had become to Daixi town after Ming dynasty in the end.The rise and fall of Shizhu town is the reflection of changes of the traffic and commerce's situation of the area,which the town had been located on.
