| Abstract: | As a major life event, residential relocation has important impacts on individuals’ health. This paper aims to narrow these gaps by examining the direction and determinants of health change after residential relocation based on a two-wave tracking survey of movers in Beijing, China. The evaluation by the movers suggests that most of them have improved their health conditions after relocation, implying that the intra-urban relocation and long-distance migration have different effects on the movers’ health. The results of a multi-level ordinal logistic regression model show that health changes of the movers after relocation are mainly influenced by changes in housing conditions and neighborhood environment. |
