The Ethnic Relations between Malays and Chinese in Malaysia: Cultural and Political Factors

This paper analyzes the factors that affect the ethnic relations between Malays and Chinese.First,different ethnic religions obstruct the assimilation and intermarriage between Malays and Chinese;Second,different ethnic language and media systems hinder the national integration;Last but not least,ethnic politics plays a significant role in strengthening ethnic communalism.The paper concludes that different religions,different language educations,and the special ethnic politics are the very important factors that affect the ethnic relations between Malays and Chinese.
