On the Compilation of XIHANZHAOLING and Its Gains and Losses

As a collection of the imperial edicts of Western Han Dynasty edited in Song dynasty,XIHANZHAOLING was compiled not by collecting the original imperial edicts but by gathering the imperial edicts recorded in HANSHU instead.Many valuable compiling approaches in the book were adopted by scholars of later ages in handling archival documents contained in official history books.There are some defects in the compilation,but the book can still benefit the current scholars.
