论杜维明对“文化中国”的思考

On thoughts of Du Wei-ming's cultural China

As an scholar of American citizen of Chinese origin,Du Wei-ming has thought about"cultural China"since 1990's.This paper demonstrates that Chinese culture is the idealistic core of "the three meaning worlds",aiming at increasing the spirit and value resources of "Cultural China".With democracy as a common character of "public intellectual"and "civil society",they,being mutual action between cause and effect,are the necessary productions of development of modern democracy system."The third period development of Confucianism"is just the"synthetic innovation".The thought of Du Wei-ming's "cultural China"has very abundant theoretic implications.It shows not only the ideas of the modern neo-Confucianist's "return to the orgin and make innovation",but also a realistic enlighten for the development of Chinese society and culture in the 21th century.Not only does Du Wei-ming bring us amplitude explored room,in the course of profound and creative demonstration of "cultural China",he also provides us new orientation and thoughts of further research and contributes a new edition of idea for our comprehending the course of the modern neo-Confucian thought.
