| Abstract: | The Dutch translation of Jacobus de Cessolis' Ludus scaccorum is an adaptation of the Latin text with so many interventions from the Dutch translator that the Dutch version becomes an independent plea for just behaviour. The context is presumably that of the Dutch comtal court of 1400. |
