鲁宾逊新史学派在治学风格上具有一些共同的特点 :积极入世的态度 ;扩大历史研究的范围 ,扩充研究的方法 ;重视史料的搜集 ,又强调历史的解释。同时其成员之间也存在着差异和分歧 :他们研究的重点是不同的 ;对待历史解释方法的态度存在着差异 ,由其对待马克思的态度可见一斑 ;在鲁宾逊晚年特别是在谢世之后 ,学派内部发生了根本性的分歧 ,分歧主要是围绕历史学的新旧划分的合理性和采用什么样的方法研究历史展开的

The Academic Style and Landmark of the Robinson School of the New History

The James Harvey Robinson New Historical School possessed some common features that were actively entering society,expanding the range and methods in historicall study,attaching importance to gathering the historical materials,and emphasizing the interpretation of history,mean while,certain differences appeared among them.They had no same key study,different views of the method in interpreting of history.Specially,after death of Robinson they had disputed on whether the historians should be divided into the Old and the New,and what method should be used in historical study.
