The Rhythm of Leisure Life and the Inherent Qualities in Village Society

As one of the most important leisure ways of life in village society,temple fair coincides with the special rhythm of the agricultural period of a year.Based on a typical temple fair case in south east China,this paper attempts to reveal,through the dialogue between history and sociology,the actual state and inherent qualities of the regional social life in modern times from the aspects of temple fair's annual cycle,season and periodic duration.
