| Abstract: | Based on his analysis of the archaeological materials from the three Shang walled enclosures at Dongxiafeng and Yuanqu in southern Shanxi,Fucheng in Northwestern Henan,this paper tries to figure out the reasons causing the founding and declining of the three walled enclosures.It argues that the three Shang walled enclosures might have been the result of conflict between the Xia and Shang entities |
