Abstract: | This essay examines the reordering of space under contemporary capitalism, mainly dealing with Asia and posing questions about its significance for Australia. It traces the history of zones and shows how today they are linked via corridors to ensure the circulation of commodities, capital and money. Notwithstanding the exploitation and dispossession involved in the system, it is argued that over time India and Australia will be brought together in a shared postcolonial destiny. |
