The Excavation of a Dated Tomb of the Jin Dynasty in Chaoyang City,Liaoning

In September 1998,a dated tomb of the Jin Dynasty was excavated in Chaoyang City,Liaoning.It was a well-preserved hexagonal brick single-chamber tomb simulating wooden structure with a domal ceiling.From this tomb,rich grave goods were unearthed,including a brick "land contract" bearing precise date——the ninth year of Huangtong Era(1149) of the early Jin Dynasty.The structure of the tomb had the style of the Central Plains in the Northern Song Dynasty and the grave goods had features of the later period of the Liao Dynasty. The discovery of this tomb enriched the connotation of the burials of the Jin Dynasty in the Chaoyang region and provided important physical materials for the researches on the history of the Jin Dynasty in this region.
