Fact and Vision in Maruyamamasao's Academic Argument--an Attachment in the Theories of "Prototype" and "Japanism"

Maruyamamasao's academic research exposes the important fact that initial Japanese modernization started in the Ado Times. On the other hand, however, his studies expanded his vision beyond the facts and academic principles, which concentrated in his " theory of prototype." As the theory possesses intrinsic, essential and natural ties with " Japanism" and is interdependent with the "contempt of the Chinese culture" deep-rooted in some Japanese minds, we need to look into this question and have a correct understanding of it so that it will become helpful for the higher-plane academic exchange between China and Japan in the 21st century.
