Abstract: | The Parliamentary Boundary Commission for England has commenced a General Review of all constituencies in the country. The previous Review, reported to Parliament in February 1983, was the subject of a legal challenge on the basis of disparities in the size of electorates. Although the challenge was lost, its basis is likely to have influenced the conduct of the next Review. Analysis of the Commission's first four sets of recommendations, for 12 counties, suggests that this has clearly been the case. |
