《潮州诗萃》选政三题

温廷敬于1915年前后编纂《潮州诗萃》,采信逾百种潮人诗歌文献及相关方志、杂记,收唐至晚清潮籍诗人436位、诗作6530多首,网罗放佚,灿然大备,可视为潮汕千年诗史和选学史的一个总结。这种过于专门化的文献工作既能集地方文学文献之大成,又易产生文献缺失与曲解的弊端。同时,由于岭东素乏善本,可资校雠的文本很少,且《潮州诗萃》篇帙过大,温廷敬以一人之力爬梳文献,不可避免出现阙收、失察、夺衍的现象,在相当程度上影响了此书的学术价值。

Three Comments on Elite of the Poems in ChaoZhou and ShanTou about Compilation

After looking through over hundred texts of ChaoZhou poem and poetry anthology, Wen Tingjing (1868-1953) finished the compilation of Elite of the Poems in ChaoZhou and ShanTou in 1916, which embodied more than 6530 poems written by 436 poets from Tang Dynasty to Late Qing Dynasty. The book can be considered as a splendid sum-up of the achievement on peoms in ChaoZhou and ShanTou for thousands years for its integrity and grandiosity. However, because of the lackage and difficulty on searching of reliable text in the east of GuangDong Provice where the author lived and only depending on the limited power of the author himself to coordinated the text, many pretermission, misjudgement and misdeeem is unavoidable. As the result, the learned value of the work is depreciated on a certain extent.
