A Further Analytical Study of the Problem of the Kuomintang Authorities Dispatching Forces to Taiwan in the February 28th Event of 1947

The February 28th event of 1947 was a political event initiated by a keen sense of popular resentment after Taiwan had been recovered from Japan. The Taiwan authorities hadn't requested that the Kuomintang authorities dispatched forces to suppress it during the first week of the event and carried out information blackout by every possible means. The situation in Taiwan was gradually out of control because of the wrong estimate of the situation made by authorities and their bureaucratic attitude. The Taiwan authorities responded too much in the complex and chaotic situation. They incorrectly regarded the Taiwan masses, normal political demands as a rebellion and requested the central government to deploy forces. The Kuomintang authorities (chiefly Jiangjieshi) made a wrong judgment and decision according to the incorrect information and dispatched forces to suppress it and eventually created the massacre.
