Abstract: | On the basis of the same assumptions that underlie the Davisian concept of the cycle of erosion, the author develops a series of equations to express in mathematical terms the combined effect of an uplift of the land and the work of erosion. Graphic interpretations of the equations reflect the conventional three stages of youth, maturity, and old age. Devdariani suggests the problems that remain to be overcome to bring this schematized plane model closer to actual spatial conditions. |
