The Economic Effectiveness of the Construction of Pioneering Railroads in Newly Developed Areas (as illustrated by the Lena Railroad)

The author analyzes the economic benefit derived from the construction of the Lena Railroad in terms of savings of transport costs compared with previous transport routes and in terms of the contribution made to the national economy by the development and settlement of the area served by the railroad.
