The incident of January 28 and the changes of British stand toward the Sino-Japanese conflicts

Based on the fundamental viewpoint that idea constructs interest,this article describes a process in which Britain has made subtle changes in her stand toward the Sino-Japanese conflicts during the incident of January 28,1932.It tries to analyse,behind these changes,the intricacy and conflicts between the traditional colonialist doctrine and the modern principles of international relations inside Britain on how to deal with her interest in China.It assesses then the effects of these changes on the British plan for the balance of power in the Far East,the growth of the institution of collective security against Japan and the structural change of Sino-British relations.
