The Friendship and Academic Achievements of Two Scholars--A Study on the Relationship Between Yang Zhijiu and Fu Sinian

Fu Sinian and Yang Zhijiu are two scholars with teacher-student relationship,their academic achievements and contributions had great influence on academic circles.However,few people have discussed the friendship and correspondence between them.The author analyzes their deep friendship according to their corresponding materials and letters left several decades ago,which not only show Yang's moral characteristics such as modesty?honesty?diligence and his sincere respect for teachers and belief in truth,but also Fu's great master model in both attaching much importance to training and use of intellectuals and trying his best to educate the youth.
