庚子勤王运动的再认识

庚子勤王是一次晚清主张清廷体制内改革的高峰,也是其终结.以前学术界有将其革命化的倾向.本文将自立会的横向关系作一疏理,以说明唐才常是以湘系力量为核心,以长江流域为基地,联络各方的一次勤王运动.自立会发动会党的深度与规模是空前的,与北方义和团适成鲜明对照.这次运动的失败与内部的不协调、会党的素质及地方大吏的派系有关,都是值得注意的历史教训.

A Re-thinking on the"Geng Zi Qin Wang"Movement

The "Geng Zi Qin Wang "Movement was the peak of reform within the system of Qing's Monarchy in late Qing Dynasty, and also its termination.In the past, there has been a revolutionized trend about it in the academic circles.This article discusses the transversal relations of the ZiLi society,and tries to explain that this Movement under Tang Cai-chang's leadership centred about Xiang clique,based on the Yangtze valley and assembled various strengths.The depth and scale of the Zili society mobilizing the secret societies was unparalleled, which was sharply contrasted with the Boxer movement in the north of China.The Movement's failure is related to internal inharmony.quality of the secret societies and factions of govemers.all of these should be a noticeable historical lesson.
