清代台州竹刻三家

明代以来,江南的竹刻大抵不出嘉定、金陵二家,其盛行的区域未出吴地。及至清代雍乾以降,自新昌人潘西凤一出,浙中竹人始日渐增多。发展到道光朝以后,浙江地区的竹刻在艺术上不仅超越了传统竹刻重镇嘉定,也让新兴的吴中竹人群体相形见绌,成为清代后期文人竹刻的代表。

Three Families of Bamboo Carving of Taizhou in Qing Dynasty

Carving craftsmen of of Taizhou, represented by Fang Jie, always carved based on the embroidered portrait created by the commercial painter. Thus, their production had a rich living interesting of common people and realistic spirits. Besides Fang Jie, there are other two famous carving craftsmen: Chen Yuan and Wang Xun. Both of them followed the art style of Fang Jie.
