陈寅恪的"不古不今之学"

陈寅恪“平生为不古不今之学”的一段自述向存争议，其所涉及的古典与今典，迄今尚乏共识。遵从陈先生自定的标准，要确定其所用何典，目前似不可能；其全句的准确意思，或亦不必“论定”。但仍可钩稽相关论述，借诠释此语之机，探索其思想学说，期对其治学处身之道，有稍进一步的“了解之同情”。从其对中西体用关系的处理，可看出他关于“国粹”的开放观念。他一生基本研究中国历史上文化碰撞和文化竞争明显的时代和议题，以“法后王”的取向，作“古为今用”之尝试，希望能对当代中外文化融合有所推进，体现出一个学人极有分寸的“爱国济世”之苦心。
