马鹤天先生对边疆考察和研究的贡献

马鹤天是国民政府的高级官员，在内忧外患的民国时期，一直密切关注祖国边疆，倡导国人重视边疆，并亲自走上考察的道路，还曾就职边疆。西北、内外蒙古、东北、康藏，皆留下了他的足迹。他、在考察途中，详细记录了所见所闻，陆续整理出版了多部考察行记和论，在当时引起了很大的社会反响，也为后人留下了许多边疆社会珍贵的历史记载。

Mr. Ma Hetian's Contribution to Borderland Investigation and Study

As a pacha of national government of Republic of China, Ma Hetian had paid close attention to the borderland and advocated the country to think much of the borderland. He himself not only made investigations to the borderland, but also worked there. He had been to Northwestern China, Inner Mongolia, Outer Mongolia, Northeastern China, Xikang. During the courses of his investigations, he had made many records and later got quite a few travel notes and works published, which echoed greatly then and now become preciously historical records about the borderland regions.
