“8 0/2 0促进会”是以华人为主导的一个美国亚裔参政组织 ,它是针对 2 0 0 0年美国总统大选而成立的。本文拟就该组织成立的原因、目的和宗旨 ,总统候选人的确定、行动与争议 ,在大选中的影响力及其发展前景作一简单介绍 ,并对当代美国华人及亚裔参政这一新策略作一评价和深入思考。

80/20 Initiative and new political participation strategy of the Chinese Americans

Initiative is an Asian American political participation organization, mainly made up of Chinese Americans. Its original purpose was to play a role in the U.S. presidential election in 2000. This paper studies the causes, goals and purposes of the establishment of the organization, the selection and argument of the presidential candidates, the evaluation of the organization's influence, and its development prospect in the future. Besides, the author has commented and thought over the new strategy of the Chinese American and Asian American political participation in contemporary USA.
