| 摘 要： | 作为知识分子的胡适,他终其一生都将知识分子,包括将他自己,定位为国家、政府的"诤臣",这一"诤臣"的身份定位决定了知识分子参与政治时批评的使命和目的.胡适一方面要求知识分子要有"面折廷争"的勇气,另一方面也要求政府要有鼓励"合法的反对"的大度,而知识分子批评的目的正在于为政府救弊补偏,辩冤白谤.
