Modern Trade Systems of Groundnut of North China (1908-1937)

After groundnut of North China entering world market, vast volume of demand stimulated the planting and trade of groundnut. Unprecedented changes of transportation and trade of groundnut had taken place. Meantime, Yantai, Qingdao, Tianjin and Shanghai, the four export-oriented systems that based on native middle and small markets, had come into being. The systems promoted the commodity exchanges between port cities and their hinterlands, and accelerated the process of agricultural industrialization of North China.
