春秋郢都无城说

楚郢都故址所在,至今尚未解决,被学界认为有可能为楚郢都故址的江陵纪南城、当阳季家湖古城和宜城楚皇城,作为春秋早期楚始都之郢的可能性都不大。春秋郢都故址至今未能找到,应是被"城"所蔽。结合文献分析及考古实证,可知春秋郢都并没有城,没有城垣遗迹,只是一个大遗址。

Analysis on the View that Capital Ying Held No City Walls during Spring-and-Autumn Period

Where is site of Capital Ying remains a mystery.This paper considers that Capital Ying of Chu State,when it was first established in early Spring-and-Autumn Period,may not in Ancient Jinan City of Jiangling,Ancient Jijiahu City of Dangyang or Ancient Chuhuangcheng Site of Yicheng,although all of which are considered having possibilities as the site of Capital Ying by academe. The reason why Capital Ying has not been found yet,should due to the view that a capital must have city walls. On the basis of analyses of historical documents and archaeological evidences,it can be concluded that Capital Ying was a large settlement site,holding no city walls during that time.
