The empirical data presented here are based on several periods of fieldwork among the Mekeo, totalling more than two years in the period 1989–2006, including a six‐month in‐depth study of Mekeo ‘magic’ in 1996. All studies were based in the village of Eboa in the Ve'e part of Mekeo. These studies were supplemented by a month's archive research in 1990 at the headquarters of the Sacred Heart Mission in Rome. |
