从《世说新语》与《晋书》对东晋道佛二教的不同书写论曲笔

The Use of Qubi in the Descriptions of Buudhism and Daoism in the Texts of SHISHUOXINYU and JINSHU

SHISHUOXINYU and JINSHU are important historical documents on religion in Eastern Jin Dynasty. Both Taoism and Buddhism are flourishing in Eastern Jin Dynasty. However, we are only told the history of Buddhism in SHISHUOXINYU, and we are only told the history of Taoism in JINSHU. The reason is the writer thought that one religion was superior to the other. The absence of the second religion was deliberate. The absence of the second religion told us that the modern transition of historical writing was necessary. But if we understand the use of Qubi, we would benefit greatly in studying history.
