唐代长安称“西京”之时间考

唐代长安在历史典籍中又经常被称为"西京"。关于其改称"西京"的时间,《旧唐书·地理志》等记载为天宝元年,这应当是错误的。其改称的准确时间应为《通典》、《唐会要》记载的开元元年。实际上,早在开元元年之前,自高宗、武后时期起,已经逐渐有称长安为"西京"的现象。这种情况,可以追溯到隋朝以"西京"与"东都"的对应称呼。

Study on the Time of Chang'an Is Renamed Xijing in Tang Dynasty

Chang’an(长安) is often called Xijing(西京) in the historical documents of Tang Dynasty. The time of this name started is the first year of Tianbao(天宝) recorded by the Geographical Records of the Old Book of Tang Dynasty(《旧唐书·地理志》),which is proved wrong. According to Tong Dian(《通典》) and Tang Hui Yao(《唐会要》),the definite time is the first year of Kaiyuan(开元). In fact,Chang'an has been called Xijing since the period of Emperor Gao(高宗) and Empress Wu Hou(武后),which can be traced to the corresponded address of Xijing and Dongdu(东都) in Sui Dynasty(隋朝).
