鲁山望城岗冶铁遗址出土燃料鉴定与研究

摘    要:鲁山县望城岗冶铁遗址出土的12块木炭都是栎属,其中槲栎组占比较高,麻栎组次之。表明当时的人们有意选择燃烧热值高、火力强大、燃烧持久的优质栎木作为冶铁燃料。通过对木炭样品的观察,发现58%有明显的材表,木炭样品的年轮数大于或等于10轮,直径在5.2厘米或以上,认为古人对采集冶铁燃料可能有规定。

Identification and Research of Fuel Remnants Unearthed from Iron Smelting and Casting Site,Wangchenggang Site,Lushan County
Abstract:In Lushan County,Wangchenggang Site was once a workshop for iron smelting and casting.Twelve pieces of charcoal unearthed here are all found to be made from varieties of genus quercus,mostly oriental white oak,followed by quercus acutissima.These charcoal remnants indicate that at that time high-quality oaks were chosen as fuels for iron smelting because of their high calorific value,blazing flames and higher fuel efficiency.Analysis of unearthed charcoal samples shows that 58% of them bear obvious patterns.Each sample having the number of growth rings greater than or equal to 10 and the diameter of 5.2 cm or more shows that the ancients might have provisions concerning collecting fuels for iron smelting.
