The issue of prisoners of war is constantly under close consideration during the civilization of mankind,for how to treat prisoners of war presents the conflicting sides' conceptions,inter-understanding and manners of communication.However,this issue has been neglected during the study on the history of the Opium War.In fact,we can have a side look of this war by consulting the conceptions reflected from the capture and the treatment of prisoners of war,of them,and the negotiation on them,which also provides us a new point of view to understand Qing Dynasty.
