慈利楚简《大武》校读六则

Six Essays on the Dawu Chapter in the Cili Chu Bamboo Slips

Through the interpretations to some texts of the Dawu Chapter in the bamboo slips of the Chu State unearthed in Cili County,this paper puts forward some new opinions.The "zheng征(expedition)" in the paragraph "Wu you qi zhi武有七制(the military affairs have seven types)" should be interpreted as "政" but read as "征".In the original version of the Dawu Chapter,this paragraph has a character "斗(scuffling)" but had been lost during the transcribing so the topic sentence was changed as "武有六制(the military affairs have six types)" which was not the original look.The "shou兽" in the sentence "兽不斗善斗" of the text of the bamboo slips should be interpreted as "战".The illegible character before the sentence "四曰同恶相助" should be "固".The character "gong攻" in "四攻" should be interpreted as "" but read as "凶".The numbers on the reverses of the slips with the sentenses "不搏善搏不兽" and "□□六厉五卫" were not the page numbers but copied "as is" by the scribe(s).
