酱釉小罐的再研究

酱釉小罐是器表施有酱色低温铅釉,高度均在10厘米以下、一般在5厘米左右的容器,见于西晋十六国时期的墓葬中。以今豫中地区发现最为集中,甘肃、北京、辽西、辽东、山东、苏南等区域的墓葬均有发现。根据器物的整体造型,酱釉小罐可分成A、B、C三型,每一类的分布区域、流行时代、产地、传播方式又有所不同。其用途虽然暂未完全确定,但器物的出土背景和出土材料的检测结果均指向酱釉小罐用于盛放化妆用品的结论。

A Study of the Little Brownish Glazed Jars

The little brownish glazed jars refer to the small sized containers, mostly with a diameter of 5 cm and height no more than 10 cm, fired with low temperature brownish glaze employing lead. They were discovered in the tombs of the Western Jin and Sixteen Kingdoms period mainly distributed in Luoyang area with a small number also seen in Hexi, Beijing, Liaoxi, Liaoding, Shandong and Nanjing. Based on their forms, these little brownish glazed jars can be grouped into three categories (A, B, and C), differing from each other in geographic distribution, prevalent times, origin of production, and approach of spreading. While no agreement has been made regarding their functions, the archaeological contexts and the results of the tests conducted on them have strongly suggested that they were used to hold cosmetics.
