War-time academic professionalism |
| |
Abstract: | AbstractThis brief commentary shows how chronic problems of academic praxis come to the fore in times of major political crises. The areas of popularisation, education and fieldwork are used as examples to highlight the weaknesses and failures of scholarly routines. As a consequence of these difficulties, a fundamental re-conceptualisation of the boundaries of the academic sphere is required. |
