MAO Ze-dong's Reflections on and Choice of the Strategy of Socialist Modernization in China

The Chinese Communists represented by MAO Ze-dong summed up historical experience and lessons and opened up a correct road of national salvation: seeking national independence and creating preconditions for modernization first and then concentrating on the construction of modernization. There was no full-fledged modernization drive before the reform and opening-up but the first generation of collective leadership of the CPC mapped out the development strategy according to the national conditions and, on this basis, made arduous explorations, thus laying a solid foundation for continuous socio-economic development in China.
