Abstract: | Two criticisms of a model for explaining the nature of ball lightning are discussed. It is shown why these criticisms are groundless. Furthermore, by considering the topics in question in a wider context, the reliability of the model is further substantiated. Comparisons between model expectations and ball lightning reports, including laboratory ball lightning, are considered and again the model turns out to be in agreement with observations. |
