| Abstract: | The custom of keeping shells in mouth is primaryly popular in the central area of Shang cul- ture,later expanding to the area of Western Zhou culture in the early Western Zhou dynasty.From the mid- Western Zhou dynasty to the Spring and Autumn period,the custom has expanded to other areas continuously. |
