中国民族图书馆水湿文献的抢救

由于暖气管道爆裂,造成中国民族图书馆馆藏的大量珍贵文献被热水浸泡或熏蒸。为了赶在天气转暖之前抢救完这批文献,综合运用了常见的几种水湿文献的抢救方法,特别借用了文物界所常用的低温干燥法,用3个月的时间,完成了全部水湿文献的抢救重任,为以后的系统修复工作奠定了良好基础,同时也为图书馆界抢救文献提供了一些可供参考的经验教训。实践证明抢救大批量的水湿文献应从实际情况出发,及时调整方案,从长计议,综合运用各种抢救方法,随时总结经验教训,才能在有限的时间里最大程度地抢救受损文献。

Salvage of the water-soaked books in the China Ethnic Library

The warm air piping burst in the China Ethnic Library caused a large number of precious cultural documents soaked by hot water or fumed by steam. To rescue these cultural heritages before the weather became warm, different methods of saving water-soked books have been synthetically used, especially the low-temperature drying technique commonly employed in conservation science. After 3-month effort, all the water-soaked documents have been restored. This experience provided some bases for future similar conservation work.
