摘    要:综述了现代分析测试方法和数学方法在古代陶器成分分析、年代测定、制作工艺、产地判断、形态分析方面的应用以及甘肃新石器与青铜时代陶器研究的意义。

Abstract:Pottery is the main utensil for ancient human being during Neolithic Age to Bronze Age. There are abundant Pottery sherd remains excavated in Gansu Provence. Scientific examination has been provided to assess dates, assign provenance and rediscover production technologies. Scientific dating for pottery is most often performed by thermoluminescence, while provenance (site, the site of production) is normally assessed by comparing the chemical composition (obtained from XRF, ANN and ICP - MS) of the sherds under the study with that of sherds of known provenance or raw clays. Technological studies are aimed at shedding light on particular aspects of ancient ceramic production, e. g. firing conditions and coating techniques. Therefore, pottery and pottery sherds are the importand object for archaeologists to know and understand the ancient culture and civelization in Neolithic and Bronze Ages.
